Red Bull is gearing up its iconic energy drink to race with a new 19.2-ounce Red Bull Racing special edition can launching in April 2010. The limited edition can will be featured in both Red Bull Energy Drink and Sugarfree varieties, and will feature Red Bull Racing's Brian Vickers and Scott Speed, respectively. The cans will be available through most of the NASCAR season. Retailing at $4.49 per unit, the 19.-ounce can compliments the brand's existing 8.4-, 12- and 16-ounce can packages. Beyond appealing to NASCAR fans, the larger size will appeal to the energy drink segment's heavy users, who represent 21 percent of the consumer base, but consume 73 percent of the category volume, Red Bull stated.
